What an absolute nail-biting belter of a cross country season we’ve had this year! With a slow start from the women in the autumn (and I don’t mean slow in speed, but sluggish in numbers), and relegation from division one on the cards they soon rallied round and came out in force for the last big two – Thornley Hall Farm and Alnwick. Well this year’s Great North Run took on a very different tone this year, after the sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. With the Great North 5k and both Mini and Junior Run postponed out of respect, it was touch and go whether GNR 2022 would even go ahead. But with tens of thousands of people turning up and millions being raised for charity, GNR announced it would remain in place in honour of her memory.Read more
The second friendly Junior Quadrathlon took place on a very wet September evening. The event was put together with our friends at Blyth to ensure youngsters had the opportunity to compete during the summer months.
