First summer grand prix and track and field meet coming up.

Just a reminder that the first in our 2017 Summer Grand Prix series starts on Tuesday May 2nd at the Rising Sun Country Park. Click here for more details.

Meet at the Barking Dog pub car park at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start. As well as our own inter-club races there are lots of cracking runs to choose from as part of the series. There are prizes up for grabs at the end of the year. But you have to be in it to win it!

And just a few days later the first track and field meet takes place on Sunday May 7th. With the majority happening on our doorstep at Monkton Stadium in Jarrow this year there really is no excuse. It’s great fun and it’s all about points for the team so even if you don’t feel you’re a proficient track and field athlete we welcome any member who wants to come and give it a go. You never know, you might find you’re brilliant at a particular event or just really enjoy it.

Please register your interest into the link here or contact Paddy.

We are really proud to have recently been awarded The Community Spirit Award by St. Oswald’s Hospice for our Toby fundraising success.

Wallsend Harriers has been supporting St. Oswald’s since 2008 and last year we reached our £30,000 target, which happily coincided with St. Oswald’s 30th birthday year.

The Toby run takes place every summer over one weekend where teams of runners do relays to cover over 100 (usually close to 200) miles across the North East of England. It’s a fantastic, memorable event. If you’ve not been involved before and fancy taking part then contact Elaine.
