More than 200 athletes of all ages from all corners of the North East turned out in force at West Allotment Country Park to run their socks off in memory of one of the North East greats (well in our eyes the greatest) – Terry O’Gara.
With a fast, new course to contend with and an unseasonable chill in the air the challenge was on for juniors and seniors alike.
The Race HQ for number collection and on the day entries is the Spud & Lettuce on the Cobalt (Silver Fox Way) NE27 0QJ.

Senior race starts at 10am and on the day entries close 30 minutes beforehand.
Junior race starts at 10.45am and last entries will be taken at 10.15am.

Congratulations to Mark Summers and Andy Wigmore on completing Druridge Bay Half Marathon on Sunday (April 17).
This is Mark’s third half marathon this year, and his first off road. He is aiming to complete an epic 12 by the end of the year (next stop Sunderland on May 1). He finished in a great time of 1:55. Well done to Andy who finished in the early 1:30s (awaiting official time) and cheered Mark through the finish.
Another fantastic day for Wallsend Junior Multi Events athletes o Saturday (April 16th) at the NOTAN Quad Kids Grand Prix. The weather was appalling but kids are made of tough stuff and showed some great performances in sprint, endurance, throwing and long jump events. Well done Cara, Millie, Luke, Finton, Freya, Ella and Thomas!

A beautiful Spring day at Churchill Playing Fields track marked a number of firsts for us all on Sunday. It is the first time the event has been held, it was the first time our assistant coach Sam had put up the famous Wallsend tent (thanks Sam) and most importantly the first time our amazing Junior Multi-Event group of athletes had taken part in a competitive race.
