Braving the elements for Green and Gold glory!

Sunderland10kandhalfAnother week another string of achievements for Wallsend Harriers.

In the juniors tenacious Hugh completed his 50th Park Run and our actual ‘mountain goat’ Harry Coates won the snow-topped Cheviot and Hedgehope Pendulum Fell Race.

A massive well done to all those who braved battering wind and rain in Sunderland on Sunday in the 10k and half marathon. Sarah Elizabeth Robson came fifth lady in the half. Julie Collinson, Julie Williams and Jeanette Gibson also battled through chafed thighs and all! Mark Summers completed his fourth half marathon of the year (he’s aiming to do 12) in an excellent time of 1:46. suderland2Andy Wigmore got a PB of 1:31. Nice one Andy! Well done to Alf Tupper and Steve Mallam too. Great running.

In the Sunderland 10k, we had some fab runs by Mick and Lyndsey DayMichelle Heron, Sara Stanwix Morgan.

I hope I haven’t missed anyone! Let me know if I have.
