Alastair Willis takes the win on the final WGP!

alastairAlastair finished strong and pipped Danny Hughes for the win. Thomas Ferguson rounds off the the top three. Samuel Charlton, set a new course record with a fantastic 16:49, ahead of Jack Armstrong (17:44) and Andy Graham (18:06).

Sarah Robson was the fastest female with a 20:32, beating Erin Prior (20:46). Well done everyone.

Congratulations to Julie Williams taking the WGP 16-17 crown, holding off Alan ‘Alf’ Heslington. Denver Stretesky also secured a 3rd place finish.

Erin won the (u18) junior section, ahead of Matty Summers and Samuel Charlton.

A well done to all the 128 athletes who scored points during this series, whether you have donned your vest for the road / relay race or helped be part of a fantastic Cross Country squad, you have done your club proud. Now onto the Summer series, watch this space for further details!

    Cheers Gary (and Leanne) for all of your efforts and all of the other marshals and supporters who braved all of the elements to make this all possible. And well done Julie, a worthy champion of this year’s WGP.
    A wise man once said – “You’ve got to love what you’re doing. If you love it, you can overcome any handicap or the soreness or all the aches and pains, and continue to play for a long, long time.’
    Next time anyone complains about their handicap just put them another 30 seconds back.
