‘May the 40th be Mish you’

Ok, it’s weak but I couldn’t resist (sorry Mish, but I had to pay tribute to your efforts in the headline).

I can barely keep up with all the Green and Gold goings on over the last few days (and just generally in fact)! I hope I have not missed anyone from the following list of events and achievements from the past week (if I have you have my permission to sternly DM me!)

KEVIN KICK STARTS 1ST SGP WITH VICTORY

Well done to Kevin Hood for taking victory ahead of Darren Flynn and Danny Hughes. Samuel Charlton ran the fastest race in 10:39 and sets a new course record. With Jack Armstrong in 2nd and Andy Graham 3rd. Sarah Robson ran the fastest ladies race with a 12:41, and also sets the mark for the course record.

I will include this into an overall table with the results from the previous events.

Many thanks to Andy Clark for helping with the officiating. And Bill Todd acting as lead bike.

Next SGP is 30th May. See you then

Sarah ‘egg-cels’ at North Tyneside 10k!

We had a fantastic turn out at North Tyneside 10k, the popular, annual Easter Sunday race.

Thirty-three Green and Golds took to the scenic coastal route, which takes in the Fish Quay, River Tyne, Tynemouth Priory and finishes at St. Mary’s Lighthouse.

Simon Lyon was first Wallsend male in 36:34 (chip time), with our young Jack Armstrong closely behind in 36:57.

Super speedy Sarah Robson was first Wallsend female and third overall in a cracking 40:58! A massive well done to our ladies captain.

Full results are here.

I’m afraid I was away for this race so if anyone got a PB or would like to add anything else to this write up then please let me know!

Congratulations to everyone who took part.

He used to say “people need people” and there was nowhere that summed this up more than at West Allotment Country Park in North Tyneside on Sunday April 23rd. It was the Terry O’Gara Memorial 5k.
