There was a fantastic turnout tonight at the Club Championships with a total of 63 juniors and seniors representing the Green and Golds! It was a great atmosphere and a wonderful sight to see all the green and gold vests flying down the streets of Wallsend.
So the world’s largest half marathon has been and gone again. In a funny kind of way it feels like Christmas. Loads of preparation, build up, excitement, nerves, expense (!) and then it’s all over in a flash. Some of us love it and embrace it others stay well clear.
The club championship is Wallsend Harriers’ pinnacle event of the year for members. It’s a must for everyone, a chance for us all to get together and run together and celebrate what the club is all about.
This year’s club championship will take place on Tuesday 19th September. We will be meeting in the car park at Centurion Golf Club in Wallsend.
Both seniors and juniors should arrive promptly for 6.30pm. There will be two races:
1) an under 13s one mile race
2) older juniors and seniors race (one lap for women and under 15s, and two laps for men and under 17s).
It’s the last in our Summer Grand Prix series and there’s all to play for. Every runner gets 50 points!
Please remember to WEAR YOUR CLUB VEST as we will be having our annual club photo on the night.
It will be a great evening with the whole club turning the streets of Wallsend green and gold!
Please come along and be part of the club’s history.
